Youlendree Appasamy

Youlendree Appasamy is a charou who writes well. As a Joburg-based freelance writer and sub-editor, some of her work has appeared in Sunday Times, City Press, Mail & Guardian, Sowetan and Kajal Mag. She co-edits literary and arts e-zine, Ja. Magazine, and is an Africa is Country Fellow 2020/2021. Her work explores gender-making and anti-blackness in South African Indian communities, indentured labour and visual cultures, and zine-making.
