International Party Music

Tired of hearing the same Top 40 songs at every party? Want to try something new for this weekend’s get-together? Here are some recommendations from the Xeno team based on their anniversary party playlist!

Orchestra Baobab - We started the night with a little Orchestra Baobab, a Senegalese band that started as a weekend house band at a Dakar club. Drawing on a strong Cuban influence and their African roots, Orchestra Baobab is the seminal band of world music.

Epa Wei by Danny Ocean - For anyone who doesn't know, Dominique is a fan of reggaeton. Her current obsession is this song by Danny Ocean, a Venezuelan singer and producer. His other song, Me Rehuso, which came out in 2016, is another one of Dominique's favorites.

Ya Nour El Ein by Massari - Massari is a Lebanese singer based in Canada. His music is known for being a mixture of Middle Eastern and R&B rhythms. This is a fun song to dance to.

Corazon by Maluma - No playlist in which Dominique was an active participant can do without Maluma, baby. You can't go wrong with Maluma, but this is a fun track, as it features Nego do Borel, a Brazilian singer.

Habib Galbi by A-WA - A-WA is an Israeli band composed of three sisters. They mix traditional Yemeni music with electronic and hip hop rhythms. This song, Habib Galbi, released in 2016, has become an international hit (Pitbull, Mr. Worldwide himself, featured in a remix of the song).

Wakhra Swag by Navv Inder and Badshah - Navv Inder is an R&B singer from Gurusar Sudhar, Ludhiana, India. This song, which is in collaboration with Badshah, won the 2016 Punjabi Music Award for the best song.
